Interview with Author-Richard Stephenson

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Richard Stephenson.

-What is your book and it’s genre? Collapse is a dystopian/apocalyptic novel.
-What is it about? Collapse is set fifteen years in the future. It tells the story of the downfall of America. No major event like zombies or alien invasion, I wanted Collapse to be realistic and based it on real events happening today. Sort of a cautionary "what if?" tale.
-Who are your favorite writers, your favorite book, and who or what are your writing influences? I have a lot. Lee Child, Vince Flynn, Dan Brown, to name a few. They have taught me that you can't take your time telling a story. You have to get to the point and not make the reader sift through extraneous detail.
-When did you know you wanted to write? About a year ago. I've always loved writing when my job calls for it, just never done it for fun. I found that it is my passion in life.
-How long did it take you to write the first book About four months.
-What did you do to promote the book. Twitter and Facebook. Also released a sneak peek of the first seven chapters, that was the successful promotional tool I came up with. Really raised interest.

COLLAPSE will be released July 6th on Amazon. The free sneak peek of the first seven chapters can be found at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/163667
