Poem: The Word

           The Word

 Precept upon precept, line upon line,

Here a little and there a little,

God’s law is perfect on its own,

Do not take away one jot or tittle.


Jesus is our master, lord and teacher

He guides us through his word,

he created every living creature,

Such as animal, mammal and man.


His word is given in the Bible pages,

To give us instruction and guidance,

God has been here through the ages,

He is the same today as yesterday.


Commandments are given throughout the Bible,

to teach us right from wrong,

its truth therefore makes all man libel,

For his own sin and wrongful offences.


Sin is knowing to do good and doing it not,

For with the blood of Jesus,

All man, with a price are bought,

so glorify the lord and be thankful.


As a standard of the law,

the ten commandments were given,

Mans heart, God does draw,

for its words are powerful.


The words can cut like a sword,

they were given from above,

from our savior and lord,

To prepare us for Heaven above.
