There are a lot of great resources out there that can help you understand the Bible, religion, and salvation.  Here are a few that I have found:

Just remember that anyone that teaches anything other than Jesus is the Savior of the world then don't listen.  Jesus is the only way to salvation.  There is no other way.  Jesus died on a cross for the sins of the world.  His blood shed on the cross was for an atonement for the sins of the world.  Without shedding of blood is no remission. (Hebrews 9:21-23)

For by one man, sin entered the world. (Romans 5:12) and by one man redemption was made; gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. (Romans 5:15)
