This post has some great insights into what the Bible says will occur in the last days. Another post regarding this Abomination that maketh desolate can be found here. Abomination of Desolation
There have been different Bible scholars that describe the “abomination of desolation” in two different scenarios. One that involves the temple in Jerusalem and another one involving the whole church. We know that prophecy can take a long period of time to come to place. In Matthew 24:15 the Bible reads: When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:). In Daniel we learn how the sanctuary is polluted and the daily sacrifice taken away. Then the abomination that maketh desolate occurs. What could happen on this earth that would be considered a desolation of abomination (Matthew 24:15).
Daniel 11:31-33 says, “And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.”.....
