For The Sins of the World

One day long ago, in times past,

God sent a sign for the wisemen,

Way up high a star was cast,

To lead the way to his dear son.

Gifts were brought to celebrate,

Of Gold, frankincense and Myrrh,

Jesus, God’s son deserved a better fate,

Than to die for the sins of the world.

Mary was the chosen, from above,

To give birth to the Savior,

He was given because of God’s love,

To die for the sins of the world.

Angels rejoiced in Jesus birth,

Because he was God in the flesh.

He was born to live on the earth,

To die for the sins of the world.

The heaven mourned while he was away,

Winning the lost and saving souls,

He went to the cross that last day,

To die for the sins of the world.
